I AM SHOOTING FOR A SEPTEMBER 2008  RELEASE There may be a delay due to the recent 100% increase in the cost of casting alloy. I may have to make my own casting alloy from scratch to keep metal kits affordable.

The AMPHI-ROVER is my custom design of  a six-wheeled amphibious vehicle  very similar to the Alvis Stalwart. The vehicle can be built as a civilian or military expedition, utility or SAR vehicle. I am offering the basic vehicle as a kit. The lower body, the "hull," is cast in resin due to weight and cost issues. The windows are clear styrene plastic and the treadless tires  are made from ynthetic rubber. All other components of the kit are cast white metal or  brass parts.  The basic kit can be modified and detailed with the accessories that I offer, with acessories that you build yourself, or with commercially available off the shelf 1/87 scale model parts.

THE FIRST PRODUCTION MODEL

This AMPHIi-ROVER has been equipped with some of my custom accessories like cargo bins, storage boxes, cargo packs, a small inflatable boat, winch, a ventilation unit,  a solar panel and an antenna. The three hatches (painted yellow on this model) are included in every kit. Note the articulation of the suspension, which allows posing of the vehicle on uneven surfaces.

CABIN INTERIOR

The cabin interior is customizable with a dashboard console with steering wheel and with benches that come in two sizes.
All kinds of configuration are possible. One could also choose to forgo the interior accessories and to tint the windows.
