ABOUT HORUS
Horus
is the prince of the ancient Egyptian gods and the patron of the
pharaoh. The Eye of Horus, Udjat, is most likely based on the
observation of a total solar eclipse, and symbolizes healing and
protection against evil. I designed my Horus amulet in the shape of a
falcon's head, which incorporates all the traditional elements of the
Eye of Horus motif. The watchful eye's pupil represents the protective
and omniscient sun god Ra. The radiant beams of light symbolize the
connection between Earth and the divine. The Eye of Horus is
represented as a figure with 6 parts, which correspond to the six
senses: touch, taste, hearing, thought, sight, and smell.
