APPLICATION |
1. ULTRA BIGHT WHITE, 18,000 mcd. This
is simply the brightest white 5 mm LED commercially available at this
time and the best all-around choice if color perception must be
maintained. This LED offers a very useful 30 degree beam.
WHITE LED BRIGHTNESS
There
are many companies and vendors that advertise higher mcd numbers, but I
have yet to see brighter white LEDs than the ones that I am using. On
ebay I have found LEDs with an inflated "up to 30,000 mcd" rating, but
they did not even match my old 12,000 mcd LEDs from 5 years ago! Don't
buy the hype. I am constantly on the lookout for sensible upgrades.

mcd. Because the human eye is very sensitive to green light, this LED
appears extremely bright. Its beam is very even and covers 18
degrees. |
