REQUIRED TOOLS & SUPPLIES

x-acto zap-a-gap

  • SMALL FILES from the hobby shop: I recommend at least a flat and a round one.
  • HOBBY KNIFE with one or two types of blades: in case of an X-Acto knife #1, #11 and # 10 blades are recommended.
  • TWEEZERS can be sueful for picking up and positioning small parts.
  • SMALL PLIERS (like the kind in a Swiss Army Knife) will allow you to easily push the axles through the wheels.
  • WOODEN TOOTHPICKS for applying glue.
  • C/A GLUE ("krazy glue"): I prefer Zap-A-Gap CA+ for most applications. This is a gap-filling glue that allows repositioning of parts.
  • EPOXY RESIN (1 minute or 5 minute version) can be useful for reinforcing parts and for filling gaps, but is not required.
  • PUTTY: I like Bondo putty from the auto parts store. It is inexpensive and very good.
  • SANDPAPER (600 grit) for sanding putty.
  • PAPER NAPKINS to wipe off excess glue and spills.
