LED AND LITHIUM BATTER CONVERSION

The original ZipLight contains two 1.5 Volt alkaline batteries and a small incandescnet bulb.

My modified ZipLight contains one or two commonly available, long-lasting lithium coin cells and an LED.
MODIFICATIONS
  • modified case (internals only -- outside remains original)
  • coin cell holder  (custom made by me)
  • resistor (if required)
  • added wiring and soldered connections
  • the reflector is not required, since an optical LED is used; a retainer holds the LED securely in place.
  • superbright 5 mm LED
  • one or two long lasting CR 2016 or CR 2032 lithium coin cells, depending on the used LED
